2005 Krugerrand Error

Recommended Posts

I N Collectables

Hi all,

A collector recently sent me images of a peculiar 2005 Krugerrand that he has.

To me it looks as if this coin's obverse and reverse were struck separately and then joined together some how or the other as it appears to be two halves.

The metal content, mass and other specifications are all in order.

Thoughts on this particular type of error and has anyone seen something similar?

The lighter yellowish obverse part looks milled whilst the reverse side shows less if any milling (but difficult to see).

In what city does the owner stays, as I would like to refer him to someone who can take a closer look as this is REALLY interesting?
