UNPAID SHIPPING

We are suddenly experiencing a number of buyers who are changing the shipping charge to zero. This is a new problem for us - is anyone else having the same problem?

We do have that as well, to educate them is really difficult

Also some users choosing the wrong area for cheaper option and we have to pay the additional charges.

Some of my buyers do that but it is because they want me to hold items to save on postage for futher purchases

The buyer, however, normally will inform me if this is the case

Sometimes they do it by mistake

Most time purposefully they do it to pay reduced shipping fee.

I even put a note not to edit but it still happens.

I have experienced the same issue as well. There sems to be some problem buyers are misunderstanding teh shipping options and making the  shiping cost 0 . When I queries it with them they did not even realise it had been done.

It happens because they can edit - if the values are non editable this problem will resolve itself

This happened last night again... Order 17395254. A buyer placed an order with an altered delivery fee. When asked why she did that she said that the system changed it to R 0.00. I have now reported this issue to Attie at Bid or Buy and hope that it will get it sorted out.

I am totally lost.

It is the buyer that adds the shipping fee - not the "system".

So if you, as seller, gives two shipping options, for example ...

Post Office = R50 or Courier = R100

Then the buyer must add that amount (either R50 or R100) to the total sales amount and then you as a seller will know which option the buyer chose.

What am I missing here? It has been that way since way back when.

It depends on how you as a seller have set up your shipping table. I see from your listings that you are not using the shipping table tools provided by BoB.

Would it help if you set yours as mine?

I have NEVER had problems in the past in this regard. After 30 000 sales.

Maybe the "shipping table tools provided by BoB"  is the problem.

Just do not use them - they seem to cause all these problems that I have NEVER experienced in many, many  years of trading on BOB - just disable those "shipping table tools"

Stay safe

I think it would be a good idea to email the buyer privately and ask them to change the shipping to 0.00

and pay the shipping into our accounts then we do not have to pay the surcharge

The weight tables as well.A way for the thieving Post Office to implement their stupid laws.
