No her brother and his wife.My Niece and family decided to go to Plett  after they returned

from being turned away from Thailand flight.

If we go into lockdown what happens to Bidorbuy staff? Work from home !! Bob users will have to be extra vigilant that we do not have

scammers taking advantage

No business or very little

Think online shopping will increase when shoppers are locked down (social distancing) and if they still have monies left

If the Post Office etc is closed buyers cannot receive goods nor can we send them

I hope I am wrong but I think we are going to have riots in the next few days.

Criminals rushing into shops and raiding stores for food.Maybe the Government expect it too,

that is why the army will be  deployed if people do not comply.

South Africa is a very dysfunctional country as we know.

Actually the Post Office is one of the institutions that will remain open, although I don't know how that will help if sellers are not able to leave their houses to get there. Couriers and Postnet as I understand will be closed.

Post office will be open for payment, not sure if parcels will move or not ??

Same applies if private courier will work or not. If they stop we will have to close business.

Ok how can I put my shop on vacation without having to edit every single item? With Hello Pretty it's a few clicks and hey shop on vacay until a certain time then it automatically opens up. I want to put my things on hold until after the lockdown without going through over 100 items individually.

Hallo bitesize, Bidorbuy has to come up a solution for that.

Right now there is no such option.

Waiting for my previous post to be approved but there is a notice on the Courier Guy log in page that courier services will continue as they fall under transport, logistics and delivery services.

Postnet's reply to my question on Facebook

Good day
Due to the Government lockdown put in place to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, unfortunately all PostNet stores will be closed from 26 March until 16 April 2020.
If you have a parcel currently en route, please contact your nearest store with the tracking number before the lockdown commences.
If parcels are sent today today via Overnight, they will be delivered tomorrow.
Unfortunately, if parcels are sent PostNet to PostNet, it is unlikely they will be delivererd before the lockdown commences.
Please contact your nearest store for further information.

I have just had a visit from the policeman who I am under re: second hand dealers licence to tell

me there is no trading, all markets closed.I told him I trade online and post my items.

He said that there is to be no movement of goods whatsoever via collection but not sure about shipping.

Do you have a Second hand dealers licence ?

Thats control at its peak for policemen to visit individually and notify.

Did he come with a mask ?

Yes I am a registered second hand dealer and have to record everything I buy

and have a copy of the  ID of the person I buy from.

Marketeers also have to have a licence and he came to inform me all markets are closed.
I told him I only sell online but he said no one is allowed to collect goods from me

He was not sure of the posting though

He had a mask and gloves on,stood outside the security gate and I was up the pathway

3m away from him.No one has been allowed here for weeks

This morning I went to our local Pick N Pay and wore a mask and gloves.

The lady who served me was obviously talking to the other teller next to her in Xhosa

(Probably about my mask) and not concentrating on serving me,while serving me

I felt bad afterwards but I told her to stop talking as I want to be in and out of the shop as quickly

as possible.

No sanitizer in sight-just serving customer after customer as if nothing is happening.

I get a sinking feeling when I think of the poor South Africans in squatter camps.

I was watching the Ministers news conference yesterday evening and they clearly said Couriers are allowed to operate as they come under essential services.

So that will be best method to use during this lock down.

I am very worried too with a large number people already infected with HIV & TB - not to contract Corona Virus

Further to newsflash above

Got another email from Couriers this morning - Doubt they will be fully functional and hence online stores might have to close / cease trading during the lock down.
