Dear Collectors,

Among a small group of coins I recently acquired was this Token. I am not really a Token Collector but would really appreciate some help in identifying it.

The token is unidentified, but I have seen examples before.

Akin & Bard mention that by the 1940s in America there was an anti-gambling surge. So arcade games provided games of “skill” rather than a chance at random jackpot. So this is most probably an arcade token.

It’s interesting that he same source mentions that by the 1980s, gambling casinos in the USA were legalized in state after state, though non-native casinos were still illegal in most states. Non-casino clubs may then use “skill” tokens (chips) in games like poker that is not entirely based on luck.

With the new forum we have anti-spam mechanisms where external links in posts require approval. Legitimate domains (such as tokencatalog.com) have to be manually added.
