Gateway Financial Services for International Business

Recommended Posts

luckybreak

Paypal is the preferred Gateway Financial Services provider all over the world. There are many complaints with Paypal revolving around their practice of holding funds for 21 days, freezing accounts etc, basically denying access to one's money. With international shipping at about R37 per 100 grams, one can be out of pocket for thousands in 21 days depending on how busy one is. Has anyone found an alternative to Paypal that works for South Africans

PayPal is very convenient for buyers but can be a nightmare for sellers.

I would recommend the following two payment gateways:

Skrill (formally MoneyBookers) - http://www.skrill.com

PayFast - http://www.payfast.co.za

Both are easy to use and setup, easy for buyers to make payments, and offer exceptional protection for both buyers and sellers.

Can the international buyer buy BOB vouchers through Paypal, and then pay for his purchase in that manner.

International buyers can buy BobBucks, some can use their credit cards to pay as well, if you are a verified seller and use that option. Paypal is easier though. I offer it and for my first year they would hold the money but not any more. The only issue i have is that i have to go through FNB in order to get the money out and it takes forever. Other banks do not offer the option of remove funds from Paypal, which is really annoying,

PayPal also froze my account 6 months ago. They say they detected suspicious activity (?). They refuse to use any of the verification methods that are available.

Thanks for the alternative.

This is very annoying. I have gone to all the trouble of linking a Capitec account to Paypal, thinking I would be able to draw funds from Paypal with it. Is this not so then. Back to the bank then to find out more!
