Decreased value of a coin damaged

By how much will a 1893 Kruger halfpond's value decrease by if it was made into a cufflink and the pin welded onto the back of the coin???

Allot. We sold a 1893 half pond on bid or buy recently and it went for under R5000. There was no hole in it or ex jewellery but had a scratch across the legend. If you look at the last few that sold on bob you will see the prices realised was very bad. All for under R8000. Selling it private might bring you more luck.
