magpie1 10 Posted July 16, 2014 could it be possible to prevent a seller submitting multiple adverts for the same item/same price, which causes search time issues (and boredom on the part of the prospective buyer) to the detriment of other sellers'whose ads are arbitrarily inserted in amongst these sellers' listings? eg:- i typed in ".....925 sterling silver...." highest price first. up pops two pages of cars/bakkies, and then numerous pages of gold and diamond jewelry and then many, many, many, many listings of the same thing by the same seller (not 925 silver, but "silver" although not the genuine metal), interspersed with a few genuine items. by which time i had already lost interest and moved on to e-bay. a suggestion:- if the same price, same photo, same description then allow one advert with multiple units available? qball 12 Posted July 17, 2014 This is genrally our policy - a seller should not be listing multiples of the same item. This can be reported on a listing via the Spot a Problem link. However, we geenrally advise users who use search to try use clear and definitive search terms. The terms you used will be used to search any listing that contains the word "silver", "sterling" etc. You can narrow the search by filtering using the category tree to the left, thus eliminating results such as cars (which may contain "Silver" as a colour). The system will not know the difference between silver, the colour and silver, the metal, that is why we provide filtering options to navigate on the left. Rather use search terms such as "sterling 925 silver rings" or try define your search even further to avoid possible conflicting items appearing.
