Customs client number

Hi all,


I hope someone can answer the following :


My company (PTY) has a customs client number and is an approved importer. Does this customs number need to be reflected on the parcels my company receives or just be available should customs/SARS request it? Reason I ask is on my SARS letter it says this number and usage thereof must be safeguarded at all times so I have been scared to give it out. Currently I do not give this number to my suppliers so it is not reflected on my parcels or invoices (Parcels get delivered to me via SAPO).


Secondly if this customs number is in my companies name should all supplier shipments be made out to the company or is it ok if it is made out to me? All supplier payments are made via companies bank account.
