Fake coins alert on crazy wednesday 28 may

Interesting is that the same bidder has bid on most of these coins ... I smell a rat.

 

So just why are these coins fakes?

They are known High Value coins - just google each one individually and add counterfeit... easy

 

The most easy way to spot them is darker outer fields and rim. and then it appears cleaner or untoned toward the middle of the coins.

 

The 1862 New Orleans $1 doesnt even have the correct Reverse! it has the reverse of a morgan dollar which was minted from 1878 onward.

 

They are all chinese fakes, similar to our copied 1892 Crown or 1931 Half crown.

Well, I would think that if you went to all the trouble of making a counterfeit coin, that you would do it right. Guess whosoever faked these was either real stupid, or the coins were never intended to be fakes.

One also has to be on the lookout for Fake Morgan Dollars and the like...I unknowingly bought a few some time back....I have put them aside so they don't get mixed up with my real Morgan Dollars.
