Has your internet security been compromised?

Recommended Posts

A couple of times today when I click on links within Bid or buy, eg login, I am redirected to a Casino Website. Anyone else experiencing this?

I get that every now and then. The only way that gets rid of it is to restore your pc to an earlier point.

Extremely frustrating! (plus since all that nonsense started, my pc has been slow!)

Definitely malware. You'll need to update your virus scanner, do a full scan and run something like Malwarebytes. Not sure that'll fix the browser hijack though - you might have to fix that, but pointless looking Googling the fix if you haven't gotten rid of the malware doing it.

Also recommend you change your internet banking passwords if used on the PC you are currently using.

I downloaded the Malware program on both our work and home pcs. Home had three "issues" and the work pc had 69!

Hopefully all sorted out now.

mwarebytes is a good windows program , but also download Glaryutilities and let it check your browser for malware if you have that many positives , youre antivirus/ malware program is not working properly , using Linux epiphany browser ,I have no such problems with malware but be carefull what you remove , dont just remove you can change dll. files and cause havoc with windows ,glary lets you check and fix

problems , if its recuring problems you may have to remove bugs from the registry in safe mode , but also be carefull windows is easily corrupted and can ruin youre day .Make a backup before running any utility and ensure youre restore point is current and even turn off youre password untill sorted.

ive reopened every page i opened yesterday and no popups , no casino.com, may have just been a random thing from a browser search .

http://www.carsino.com/za/media/wide/slots_/everymoodys_jackpot/?b=double_p&SID=200877 ,,, thats part of the link , ive removed and changed parts so it cant be followed .Its definately a local source from sa though.not malicious at all.

These redirects are adware. Things to check.

What browser are you using? on suse it will most likely be firefox or chrome? check plugins, usually you will find adware plugins.

there are 2 things to do.

scan machine for malware using malware bytes (on a Linux machine like suse you will need to use clamav zypper install -y clamav)

disable browser plugins that may cause issues.

in firefox

========

open firefox, click on "tools" and then "Add-ons"

try disabling plugins or at least suspicious looking ones.

in chrome / chromium

===================

click on the 3 lines on the top right

click on settings

click on extensions

and again disable suspicious plugins

It could be a rouge in your temporary internet folder.

on Fedora I use bleachbit, to clean.

Just out of interest, with Epiphany, does bidorbuy work properly (ie: can you upload images and the likes of that)
