Poor performance by TNT Solutions and excessive shipping charges

Recommended Posts

An order was placed and paid for on 14th Jan. The shipping time is specified as 5 working days. Today TNT Solutions advise that the shipping will be between 24th and 27th January

They are also charging an excessive amount for econopost. Seeing a small parcel costs R20,50, I do not see that R 83,00 is warranted. They also include insurance, whether you want it or not

Complaints to TNT about this are simply ignored

There are numerous ratings from disgruntled buyers about similar issues

Order # 7045347 refers

Someone has to ask...

Why on earth did you buy from them when there are numerous disgruntled buyers?

Simply because they are the only seller (apart from eBay) who has the exact component I am looking for. If I could find an alternative supplier I would have used them

We will be investigating the shipping costs as this appears to be excessive.

Well, I had a reply from the seller to say that

1 - He only received the money 1 day after the payment, this justifies him sending the parcel 5 to 8 days late

2 - He "averages" the shipping cost. I do not buy that one second. It does not cost R83 to post an item weighing 150 grammes

I suggested he insert some banknotes with the parcel when eventually shipped.

Seller found he does not have stock, so is arranging a refund - so case closed

Case closed maybe, but he still wasted your time and sat with your money for a while.

Good luck finding what you need from elsewhere.

Case closed? Why does seller advertise something for sale which he does not have in stock? This is unethical. What about your inconvenience and bank charges. I do hope that you received a very nice apology.

We are still busy with the seller, he will be asked to change the shipping.
