Is stamp collecting promoted to youngsters in RSA?

Hi everyone, do you know if there are any formal or informal programs or initiatives to promote stamp collection and philately to the youth?

This is a question which should be asked of schools. Many of them have stamp clubs for the pupils.

I cannot remember how I initially started collecting stamps as a child, I think it was partly due to the plastic packets of mixed stamps they sold at CNA (am not sure if they still sell them anymore). I liked the vintage looking stamps and got drawn into the collecting and sorting aspect of it all. Other than that I don't remember there being any other philatelic promotionals that made people aware of stamp collecting...
