a horse, a horse, my fortune for a horse

LOL, My favourite part is that the item cost R25000 but the shipping cost is only R35.00. If I had the cash to throw away on such an item, tehn I'm sure I could afford to have private security company to collect with police escort.

You have both made me laugh heartily. And the picture of the funny little horse is even funnier.

Does anyone want a green plastic horse? Perhaps the three of us don't know the value of toys?

Would be good to hear what geewhizz thinks of this!

Well if one reads the questions asked about this listing, it seems there could well be buyers out there for this little green pony at what we think is a ridiculous asking price.

Perhaps we are collecting the wrong things?

As Shill as shill can be. Come on people it is so obvious.

When the time comes to pay the commission an SNC will be filed.

She sold another one for R14,000.00.

I must say I have not taken an interest in vintage toys after the 1960's and do not know enough about these ponires but it seems too good to be true.

We will have one with Mandela's name on it next--maybe signed as well.

:whistling::rolleyes:

So... this means I should NOT buy every single toy pony / horse in Walmart's toy section, a buncha-buncha non-toxic craft paint (assorted colors, of course) and a brush and paint my heart out? Dadburnit... was even 'thinking' about letting Thumper chew on some of them, hide a few in the kitty litter pan so Miss Fitt could 'scratch some class' on them and take a pin hammer to others.

mmm, could be genuine bids but such high bids from two buyers, both never having bought a thing before, both overseas buyers, neither particularly new to the site, the one bid jumping from R1500 all the way to R25000..........

Good heavens !! Unless the plastic is just a covering for the gold inside......I wouldn't have pay more than R20 for this toy. My kids had a whole series of this little Hong Kong made horses.

Ruthie, I doubt that Miss Fit would even consider touching (let alone scratching) a fake little plastic horse.

Miems - I think geewhizz is correct. Even R2.00 would be too much to pay for a secondhand, silly little green horse.

Well - no snc for the R14 000 as that has been paid already and the R25 000 - well, she did pay R9000 for one she bought previously so let's hope I won't be following that route!! Or should I say - I'M hoping - judging from the comments I've just read ..... I think I am alone on that one!!!

Hi Mariaan My humble apologies if this was not shill bidding but the pattern certainly looked like it.

How did these new users get to know that the ponies were being sold? Can you perhaps give us a run down on the reason these ponies are so valuable.

I know differant ones were made for various countries but have not done much research on these ponies. It certainly has aroused my interest.

Great to have your input here.:blink1:

Well I, too, apologise to Mariaan. She is obviously one step ahead of us. Congrats on the sale, Mariaan.

And thanks for teaching us a good lesson.

Hope it all works out for you ! People will pay crazy prices for items they collect ! Overseas buyers are more likely to pay higher prices in general so no surprise they are overseas buyers. Good luck with any further Ponies ! Guess I will be looking at little ponies in the local secondhand shops in a whole new light hehehe !

Well done Mariaan!!!!You placed your ponies on BOB and some buyers saw this as very rare items(That knows something about these ponies, that most of us do not know)and was willing to pay the price, even if it is R 25000 for the pony.I am going to look with different eyes at these ponies from now on,something new to learn.

Once again WELL DONE on these transactions, and I hope payment will be smoothly!!!

Nobody was more surprised than I was! Personally, I think one would need nerves of steel to shill bid to R25000 (and a network in USA and Switzerland?) I must have landed on some "My Little Pony" blog as I had 218 988 views!! I see Clive also has two South African MLPs (one green one like mine) The green one was over R15000 and the orange "Applejack" over R2000 when last I looked. Go for it, Clive - here's hoping your bids surpass mine!!

Fabulous sale - Well done Mariaan - and over 200 000 page views must be a record - hope you treated yourself to a bottle of French bubbly afterwards

Hey guys at Bob - you're missing a marketing trick here - Mariaan listed a small plastic pony and it galloped around the world
