Xarchitex 10 Posted January 7, 2014 Hi there, I'm missing something very obvious, but just can't find it... How can I change my Location? Currently it says I'm from Heidelberg, which is correct, but seeing that there's an Heidelberg in Gauteng and one in Western Cape, I want to make it clearer by adding "GP". Had a couple of customers so far that got confused and thought they could do a pickup in WC..... Thanks! D
TaLamia 11 Posted January 8, 2014 I think one's listed location may be tied with the address you provide under your account details, if I'm not mistaken. I remember wanting to change it before as my address (postal) was not the same area as my physical area but realised I couldn't other than by changing the listed address. qball 12 Posted January 9, 2014 All our locations are postal code driven, I am not sure we would be able to change this, perhaps in the mean time include this in your Description and Shipping tabs
TribalTrade 10 Posted January 23, 2014 All our locations are postal code driven I would like to know how do a location then gets indicated as "Gauteng", if it is postal code driven? Example: http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/seller/1129759/Sovereign_Direct
qball 12 Posted January 23, 2014 I would like to know how do a location then gets indicated as "Gauteng", if it is postal code driven? Example: http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/seller/1129759/Sovereign_Direct That's how the Post Office records it, we take the codes as is from the SAPO. So for code 1610, it only shows as Gauteng. Please see their Postal code booklet here - Edenvale is 1610 and is shown as Gauteng http://www.postoffice.co.za/postcodes/postcodese.pdf
TribalTrade 10 Posted January 23, 2014 Edenvale is 1610 and is shown as Gauteng Interesting! Thanx QBall, I bet you also had to go and look it up...:oh: I was always wondering about that one.
TaLamia 11 Posted January 27, 2014 I did not know that either, thanks admin, and the person who asked that, I learned something new there
RISadler 10 Posted March 11, 2014 That's how the Post Office records it, we take the codes as is from the SAPO. In that case, qball, why is my location given as "Mossel Bay" when the SAPO codebook (http://www.postoffice.co.za/postcodes/postcodesh.pdf) states that 6520 is "Hartenbos", huh? qball 12 Posted March 11, 2014 It's possible the PO has changed it, we don't regularly check changes to theor PO codes as it usually remains fairly static, unless they add a new area.
qball 12 Posted March 11, 2014 We will be adding a fix to this to reflect Hartenbos.
Liz02 Books 10 Posted March 12, 2014 We will be adding a fix to this to reflect Hartenbos. Hi, you should also fix 7139 to reflect Strand and not Cape Town (35 mins away). Far too often we get customers asking if they can collect to save on postage since they are "also in Cape Town", but then every time we have to explain to them that bidorbuy's system detects our postal code incorrectly, and so the postage would actually be cheaper than the petrol
NooNooBug 10 Posted March 12, 2014 Same here I am outside of George with Wilderness being my closest with code 6560 yet I am listed as being in George....mmm
qball 12 Posted March 12, 2014 Same here I am outside of George with Wilderness being my closest with code 6560 yet I am listed as being in George....mmm According to the PO - Wilderness is George, that's why you will see George.

Little Miss Muffet 81 Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) Well my postal code falls under Goodwood I do not live in Goodwood but in Edgemead and I do not want to be reflected as Goodwood because Edgemead is not Goodwood. It is not Constantia or Bishops court but it is still Edgemead Edited April 2, 2014 by geewhizz

RISadler 10 Posted April 24, 2014 Hallo, qball. Thanks for the effort, but I notice that the location bar in the browser (i.e. the tag on the webpage) still states that the item itself is located in Mossel Bay.
RISadler 10 Posted May 4, 2014 Ah, I see it is only so for relisted items; new items get the correct location.
Singhms Retail 0 Posted May 18, 2018 Hi Guys, I know this is an old thread. Is it now possible to change the location listed under my user name \ above my email address and user id? (Not the item location - that is fine) Or is it still postal code driven? Thanks,
PuMiX 11 Posted May 28, 2018 Hi Singhms Retail Yes, postal code change will update your location.
