Good Evening all.........please have a look at the following image, take note of King George's ear. Is this a die error..?

The puzzle of King George’s pierced ear on the 1930 Penny was solved by Alex Aruzzi about two years ago on this forum when he deduced that the "spear" through the Kings ear was caused by the strike on the reverse of the coin showing on its obverse.
