Internet Solutions outage 7/11/13 - 20:30 - 22:00

Dear all,

 

we apologise for the outage experienced yesterday between the above timeframes. The cause of the intermittent connectivity issues, latency and unreachability of all bidorbuy websites (including bidorbuy.co.za, bidorbuy.co.ke and ubuntudeal.co.za) originated from downtime at Internet Solution's (our hosting providers) core switches.

 

As the outage occurred our monitoring systems escalated to our engineers who then contacted Internet Solutions and it took unfortunately almost 2 hours to resolve on their end. We are still awaiting a post-mortem report from Internet Solutions and answers why their monitoring did not pick up the outage on their equipment and why redundant equipment could not take over on their end.

 

Once again, we apologise for the outage experienced and we can assure you that within the next 4 months our hosting platform will change providers to provide you with a more consistent level of service.
