I have been going through some of my coin storage containers of RSA Proof Silver Coins bought a couple of years ago and it has just occurred to me why were so many Proof Silver Coins sold without S.A. Mint Boxes?

I think only about 10% of these coins I bought were sold in Mint boxes, surely when they were bought from The Mint they came in boxes!

Anyone any idea why were they taken out of the boxes before selling?
