Fair price for these?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys!

I recently acquired these on BoB - looking to sell them to get some cash for a new laptop.

What's a fair price, do you think?

Sorry

They are mostly (if not all) sub-standard stamps. If you could sell them at all, count yourself as being very lucky.

Keep well and regards

Hello Koert

Regarding your original post on this subject.

Most Queen Victoria, Edward VII and George V GB stamps are catalogued “so very high” because the catalogue prices are for stamps in very fine condition. GB stamps for these periods in very fine condition are rare, while the heavily cancelled stamps, stamps with poor centering, stamps with washed colours, etc, etc, are COMMON.

Also, there is a very big, or rather a distinct difference between a washed stamp (= a stamp with a colour loss) and a stamp with a different shade.

The SG prices are for stamps with light cancellations (where both the date and town are clear), fresh colours, all perforations intact and well centred. No crayon marks, no rust or toning and no surface rubs. These stamps are in demand, yet they would very seldom attract more than 60% of catalogue value.

Keep well and regards

Jacques
