My sales have been very low recently so when I got a bid from someone with - 0 ratings I was tempted to delete the bid but thought I would give it a chance: Psychology - Introduction to Psychological Assessment. Ed Foxcroft & Roodt. SA context 2004 was sold for R40.00 on 1 Mar at 21:31 by Vegar in Cape Town (ID:91310851)

and today I get an e-mail:

Hi

i bid for the Introduction to psychological assessment.

I see yours is the edition that's been printed in 2004 but I need the

edition that was printed in 2009.

I need to find out if it's ok to use an earlier edition.

If it makes no difference then I'll have to buy your book.

For crying out loud!

She is studying psychology but she can't comprehend that by placing a bid she is committed to follow through!??

She has not a shred of a conscience??

How would you respond to this?

If she bid on it she should buy it - should have checked edition beforehand.

She was excited to find the book she was looking for that she bid without checking the date.

I agree about compassion - got lots!

What about rules and consequences? This is her second purchase on BoB - she didn't pay for the first one either!

In what way should I let it go? Like cancel the sale?

Compassion has it's place in areas other than business. Buyer should certainly have realised that by buying item she was entering into a legally binding contract. That been said though, if she decides to tell you that the book she bought is not suitable, the only thing you can do is wait for the 7 days to pass & file a snc.

You could also send her an email telling her that the next seller she encounters might not be so understanding & have a negative happy finger - it might serve her well to check if what she buys in future, is indeed what she needs BEFORE buying/bidding.

For some reason she was not given a positive rating for that transaction ... ??

She made a cash deposit to the seller, some sellers do not rate buyers and vice versa.

Anyway, I will just have to wait and see what she decides.

Is there anyway to cancel a sale in this kind of situation - without going through the SNC process?
