Hi,

Try and clean it a bit with Acetone usind an earbud. If the deposit doesnt come off and the surface is pitted, perhaps it has undergone environmental damage.

My humble view.

Many thanks Geejay, I thought the coin's Patina was an asset, that is why I liked the Penny, I live and learn.........thanks for the tip on how to treat the surface.

The Devil is in the Details

If it grades high AU or low MS it is a R2000 coin.

If it grades "details" in whatever grade it is worth R200

The story of our lives ....
