These really are the most amazing butterflies. When we lived in Louis Trichardt they would swarm down the street in front of our house in such a thick cascade that one couldn't see the houses on the other side of the road. This would go on for almost an entire day! (I am speaking about the years 1995 to 1998).
I see them around quite often - thanks for the article - I have certainly learnt something. For years I have thought that they were the 'cutworm butterfly / moth' and have cursed them for damage to the new seedlings in the garden...:embarrest:
