Corsets & Bustiers - STUNNING RED & BLK CORSET WITH MATCHING G STRING GARTER was sold for R51.00 on 16 Dec at 23:46 by leeshay0726 in Johannesburg (ID:84423184)

And almost all other sales on 16 Dec you will find the bidder Kimee43. On that day he offered 3 EL531 calculators. At the close of bidding 2 of them was still on R1 (No bidders) but the one I bid on had a bid of R26. Suspiciously Kimee43 could get one for R1 but rather decided to bid on the only one that already had a bid on it and after losing that bid ignored the other two.

There are probably more ghosts bidding on his items and they should pop up when one takes a good look at all other sales.

Welcome soltangriss

I wonder if some people are using the automatic bidding button on items like in this case? What's the bet, if you bid on another calculator, this Kimee43 will have a bid there too?

You will get people using friends and family bidding on their items to push up the price but there will also be someone with an automatic bid enabled too (go bid on something on eBay and see how those bids skyrocket with automatic bidding going on).

If you still feel uneasy then ask BoB to have a look and see what they can find.

In my opinion, the seller should also received a period banning (1-3 months) for schill bidding as they are surely the ones that ask family/friends to bid or just do it themself from their pc's

Would a temporary banning really work? Wouldn't limiting the seller to only listing "buy-nows" be better? There would be no purpose to shill bidding on a buy now.

The seller gets a first and final warning, if they do it again, they are blacklisted. The shill accounts are blacklisted immediately. Many long time sellers, even here on the forum, were caught way back when, and were given the chance to prove to us they won't do it again.
