Jacques Kuun 12 Posted November 26, 2012 Hello all So this guy has excellent connections with the BIG guys in London – who gladly gave their impartial advice. And he still prefers not the sell the item “overseas”, but rather to give the buyers on BoB a real bargain. JB, you are right, this post does not belong under the Stamp Forum. WACKY!! Keep well and regards Jacques

Keep well and regards Jacques Yes definitely wacky. He claims that the cancellation is still intact, therefore it must be genuine...I have a CGH "Hope sitting", that was rusted so badly it was either the bin or try a drop of bleach and water...well the rust is gone so is the ink,but the cancellation and overprint is perfectly intact. Mad about Jack 10 Posted November 27, 2012 My knowledge of stamps is very limited can be written in bold on the back of a stamp. That being said, is there a stamp worth that much ?
Jacques Kuun 12 Posted November 27, 2012 is there a stamp worth that much ? It all depends on how much Jack Daniels you've had.
JohnBenn 12 Posted November 27, 2012 My knowledge of stamps is very limited can be written in bold on the back of a stamp. That being said, is there a stamp worth that much ? Yes this one sold for GBP 1.6million in 2010. Treskilling Yellow: World's rarest stamp sells for record £1.6million | Mail Online Then you have. -The 'Mauritius Post Office Error' Stamps (1847) - $4 million + -British Guiana 1-cent Magenta Stamp (1856) - $280,000 + -Hawaii Missionary Stamps (1851) - $100,000 + -The U.S. "Inverted Airmail" postage stamp (1918) - $42,500 + -Bermuda Perot Provisional stamps (1848) - $ 105, 000 + -Australia Inverted Swan stamp (1855) - $60.000 + -Uganda Cowries stamps (1895) - GBP 2 million + And a couple more. The above are all old prices. Then let's not forget our very own CGH woodblocks the 4d vermillion going for R2 million:blink:. NONE of these stamps should be bought without a certificate, issued by someone reputable. Many forgeries exist. (But then Spiro or Fournier forgeries are well sought after.)
