How do sellers determine component prices?

Recommended Posts

I have a 'brick & mortar' computer shop. Most of the components advertised here (after an hour of browsing & verifying) are either straight off the shelve prices or in some cases more than we retail them for! And in most cases more expensive than online shops.

Come on, here I thought this is a place where one can pick up a bargain?

Don't think I'll return here.

Just some examples : GeForce 640 2GB for R 1349, 210 1GB for R 439.00, USB mouse from R 39.00 - these all brand new with a year warranty - wake up sellers!

If you cant find a bargain in computers, why not buy some seeds for your wife? Or some gems? This is a free market.

It doesn't matter what a shop tries to sell a product for, ultimately a thing is only worth what someone is willing to pay. Paying double retail, for a person out in the sticks, it may be cheaper than getting in the car and searching for that item. Being free means having the right to pay more for a product because we're not interested in hunting for the best deal.....and we, my friend, are free to take care of the people!
