Not1CentMore 10 Posted July 3, 2012 I wanna know by Ruthie what Peanut Butter & Jelly is, I eat peanut butter and jam and peanut butter and golden syrup but JELLY????QUOTE] Oh, there is a BIG difference between jelly and jams or preserves! Jelly is kinda like spreading fruit-flavored jello (gelatin) on a piece of bread or toast. Jam / Preserves is 'you can see and taste the fruit'. Jelly is 'dirt cheap', whereas Jam / Preserves are more costly (IMHO, well worth the added cost). Down here, 'mater (tomato) preserves is quite popular (yuck!). But, then again, so are 'Blossoms' - the yellow flower of the pumpkin, dipped in an 'egg wash' and fried in oil or left over bacon grease and eat 'plain' or with warm syrup (double yuck!).
