lilythepink 11 Posted June 29, 2012 Festival is on in Grahamstown and ear muffs are available everywhere - caps with earflaps seem to be the most popular item around the place at the moment! It's truly freezing here at night - all the brass monkeys are in hiding.

Jongleur 10 Posted June 29, 2012 Oh crap, that is Latin  thought it meant "way to go brother" :ninja: Almost. It means "you too", "you are next" (to fall), "even you" when Julius Caesar was assassinated. En toe vrek hy.
lilythepink 11 Posted June 30, 2012 Good thing Wayne doesn't "do" Latin. We can't have him "vrekking" on us!
MsPlod 10 Posted June 30, 2012 I always thought that "et tu Brute" meant - that Caesar recognised Brutus' part in his assassination? - you too Brutus? But then my Latin is about as good as my Caninese - when my dog barks loudly and excitedly I think she means there is someone at the gate - not that there is ACTUALLY a baboon at my garbage bin... lilythepink 11 Posted June 30, 2012 MsPlod is perfectly right. "et tu Brutus" does mean "you, too, Brutus". Now about that baboon at MsPlod's gate, I am still trying to get a picture of the 5 goats which seem to think our front veranda is their haven from the cold early morning air. Our dogs bark frantically, waking us up at about 3 a.m. but by the time we've got the camera out the goats have jumped over the wall and are running down the street again! Anyone think that bokdrols will sell on BoB? They're in good supply around here.
