Hi

 

Looking for the operating manual for the Kenwood TK-768(n) VHF FM transceiver.

 

Any assistance would be appreciated!

You can try this, maybe it will work...

 

(TK-768) Programming a TK-768 or TK-768H

 

Press and hold "A" key while turning the power on.

"Prog" will be displayed shortly. And "Sel" will be displayed

Press "MON" ("CH 1" should be displayed.)

Press "SCAN" or "D/A" to select the channel to edit (1 - 32).

Press "CHANNEL DOWN" to view the receive frequency

If you see "------------" press "CHANNEL UP" and then use the following to set the required frequency.

If you see a frequency and it is wrong, use the following to change it.

"VOLUME UP" and "VOLUME DOWN" keys set the megahertz of frequency. ( ---.000 ) SCAN" and "D/A" keys set the kilohertz offrequency. ( 154.--- )

Press "CHANNEL DOWN" to advance.

 

Do you need a "Receive CTCSS tone"?

If not, then press "CHANNEL DOWN"

If you need a tone, and you see "OFF", press "CHANNEL UP", then use "SCAN" or "D/A" to change it to what you want. If you see the wrong tone frequency just use "SCAN" or "D/A" to change it to what you want.

Press "CHANNEL DOWN" to advance to transmit frequency.

If you see "------------" press "CHANNEL UP" and then use the following to set the required frequency.

If you see a frequency and it is wrong, use the following to change it.

Press "CHANNEL DOWN" to advance.

Do this a couple of times to step through to the next channel. (Channel number will appear.)

VERY IMPORTANT - When you are done, turn the radio off, wait a second, turn it back on.

Thanks Admin - I'll print it out for hubby.

 

Scored a bargain last week from an old ham operator who has retired to the coast. Got lots of equipment, several radios, a morse kit, tower (18m), antenna's, the works for R5k! The antenna alone has a new price of almost R10k! Hubby is over the moon... now just to find a place to put it all! He's already planning on shoving my office into his radio room and for him to take over my office space!

 

Hubby's previous antenna was tiny by comparison to this one - pic below. Hubby is holding the main beam of the previous antenna "behind" the new one which is temporarily set up in our back yard to assemble it! Not a clear pic, but you'll get the idea! (main beam of new one is 8m long without the cross beams, the old one was about 3m)
