I received an enquiry regarding a 1945 penny minted in silver. can anyone give any info on this. i requested pics and will post when recieved.

Not Solid Silver

Your coin has been "silvered" artificially and is not a solid silver coin - I have seen these before :- either they were silvered to fool an ageing shop owner in believing it is a Half Crown or a non-malicious school boy experiment.

Whatever – they are not uncommon – and check its weight – it should be around 9.5 grams.
