gabriel 1 11 Posted February 5, 2009 Hi all I am looking for a stamp with khakibos on it, please help. Regards Gabriel1
seahorsefanatic 10 Posted February 6, 2009 Hi Gabriel 1 I think you are going to have a tough time finding this one. If it is a local weed then I dont know of any of our southern african countries that have honoured the khakibos on a stamp. You may need to use another plant which is in the same family. What about the Bophuthatswana grasses that Jacques may have in stock ?. Seriously though, is this for a thematic collection ?
Virgotec 10 Posted February 6, 2009 Hi If you can't find Khakibos, maybe try Wild Marigold. Regards
gabriel 1 11 Posted February 6, 2009 Hi Seahorsefanatic Believe it or not Khakibos is not native to South Africa. If it was not for the Boer War it probably would not have got here. The British purchased horses from all over the world during the war and thousands came from Argentina, with them in the fodder and in their tails came the Khakibos. Hence also the name, the Brits were often called 'Khaki's', 108 years later the battle still continues. I don't think Jacques wants to part with his Bop grasses. Jacques Kuun 12 Posted February 6, 2009 Hello don't think Jacques wants to part with his Bop grasses. Are you not perhaps referring to Bop grass? Regards Jacques
