Transporting an organ

9 posts in this topic

What would be the easiest way to have an organ (a spinet hammond) from Boksburg to East London? Does anyone have contact details of a reasonably priced company / contractor ??

I am most relieved to find that the "organ" is a musical one and not a human one.

Someone can swallow it and do an organ transplant once in EL.

Ha Ha Ha

@amcintyre should confiscate your trolley for such insolence.

I don't have an East London telephone directory but there used to be a reliable, excellent removal company called Steers in East London.

I don't know about the distance, but I know Mini Movers transport Piano's and Organs.

Hi, I am not sure if you have been helped? My two brothers happen to be pipe organ builders and have done transporting of Organs before.

Do be careful though - getting a cheaper option may result in damage. Phone around and get quotes - and at the same time ask how they propose to transport it. Some companies actually build a custom crate for the instrument.
