Hi

I've got these two FDCs(neither are in good shape),but I see that both are different(stamps positions).

Now I've checked the internet and the one I came across was also different. The stamps where closer together and it had only one cancellation in the centre, covering every stamp.

Are all these FDCs different?

Thanks.

Hi

As far as I know they are all the same.

From my experience as Postmaster many moons ago, most FDC collectors would stick the FDC set on the envelopes in different places and patterns. In some cases the stamps were all next to each other forming a kind of square which the PO Clerk was then requested to datestamp in the center. In other cases they were all stuck seperate and datestamped seperate. Then you also had all the stamps stuck right next to each other, either horizontal or vertical and every 2 stamps would share a datestamp.. You also had these combinations in addressed and blank envelopes.

Hope this helps.
