Fastway 15kg excess labels - no longer honoured

Just a head-ups to all sellers using Fastway Couriers.

Their 15kg national excess labels which were a steal at R10 (excl. vat) will no longer be accepted for their face value from 1st March.

They will now only be valid for 5kg, inspite of being bought prepaid!

Surely CPA protects us from that.

 

I don't entirely understand - does any parcel exceeding 5kg need an excess sticker now?

Ah, I see on their website.

Instead of selling 15kg excess labels for R10, they are now selling 5kg excess labels for R10.

For every 5kg you are over 15kg, you need a 5kg excess sticker.

In the past, you just needed one 15kg excess sticker.

 

I am pretty sure this will not apply to the pre-paid excess stickers already bought?

We purchased two boxes of these bad boys last year.

 

The sales lady was pretty convinced that buying "pre-paid" had its advantages because prices could never go up as long as you still had stickers left!

Fastway have sent out an email saying that stickers already bought could no longer be used for 15 kg, instead they will only be valid for 5kg.

I contacted the Managing Director, who got the Regional Manager to confirm that these stickers will not be honoured.

This is surely illegal, but they insist they will not honour them.

Use the CPA against them if possible. You can also complain on hellopeter, it seems to force companies to backtrack their poor service.
