R6 million for a pair of earrings? Is this seller legit?

Recommended Posts

Cali Craft and Gems

This sellers' listings drew my attention based purely on the prices he / she is asking for the items they have for sale:

Items for sale from gimmethat on bidorbuy.co.za

Including two pairs of earrings at R6 million per pair!

How legit is this seller?

Pretty hard to believe one pair at 6.6 million but this seller has two???11 positive ratings for purchases and two for sales one of which they could not even supply a R999 watch!!

I think some verification and paperwork should be in order here.

Hope my wife does not see this listing:whistling:It is valentines day tomorrow:cheesy:

I am going to have to talk to my bank manager first to see if I can get a loan for that amount?

Dunno if legit or not, but dang!...that sure would put a lot of groceries in the pantry and fill up a really big freezer. Oh, yeah, and pay off my mortgage and pickup truck AND buy a small island 'off the beaten path' with a really nice home, boat, private air strip, plane and a buncha-buncha of other 'toys' and pay salaries to several 'someone elses' to keep it running smoothly. Hmmm, methinks there might even be a little ka-ching left in the bank.

I suspect its about as wishful thinking as this listing I came accross yesterday -

Graded - NGC MS69 Finest Known *RARE* The One and Only 1 (Pop1) 2011 SARB 90th Anniversary R5 Coin was listed for R2,500,000.00 on 12 Feb at 07:01 by Look or Buy in Bloemfontein (ID:58130565)

Selling a coin for R2.5m that the seller bought on bob and paid R 17 060 for the same coin on 10 December :

Graded - 2011 SARB 90th Anniversary R5 NGC MS69 ### Yes MS69 ### First Ever ### BIG WOW ### R1 Start was sold for R17,060.00 on 22 Nov at 14:16 by EWAAN Galleries in Johannesburg (ID:49571481)

If only there were profits like that to be made!!!

Would you buy a R2.5m coin from a porn dealer? Just check his recent sales from end January... :embarrest:

Diamond is a nice colour if graded accurately , cut SI 1 is one of the best cuts , if 10 carats ea and set in platinum he is probably not wrong with his price , probably making a fair profit though , would be nice to see item in real life in the sun , should be quite magnificent.

SI1 refers to clarity, not cut.

It is also only 6th from the top on the clarity scale.

However, you are correct, diamonds of that size and quality (if the details are correct) would most certainly be worth a lot.

Those jewelry are only meant for Mr & Mrs Super Rich. Don't think they will found them on Bidorbuy.

Maybe the coin dealers, yes, Pierre Henri can afford them:shock:

Oh yeah! I forgot about the Black Car Brigade. They will pay it........with our tax money!

These items do, however, bring loads of attention to the sellers and their other items.

And a high level of security risk if you really have these in your possesion!!!

When i was less experienced and sold gold coins some years back i was hounded by some buyers/thiefs who traced my address and paid me a visit late at night!!
