What coin is this??

Recommended Posts

Can anybody please help with identifying this coin.

Diameter is about 30mm, weight is about the same as the old R1 coin. Looks like it could be copper or bronze.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks vortechz

Your info was a great help.

I would however like to know more as I Googled it, but can't seem to find the exact or even similar face anywhere.

Maybe it's a counterfeit from that era, who knows.

Its a Bronze Follis from the Constantinople Mint : - late Roman / Early Byzantine period (600 - 800 AD) , but I will have to check the exact Emperor.

Pierre

Thanks Pierre

If you do by any chance have anymore info, I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, would you say it is sellable and if so, at what price?

Regards
