Interesting stuff so far!

 

I find the voting so far makes for interesting reading - Regarding the three alternatives, the following patterns seems to emerge (but it is early days yet, so we should keep on monitoring the results):

Of those that have voted “Inconclusive - Not sure if the Griqua tokens circulated!” 100% are coin collectors who have indicated in the previous poll that they collect coins.

Of those that have voted “Yes, of sure the Griqua tokens circulated” 70% are coin collectors who have indicated in the previous poll that they collect coins.

 

Of those that have voted “No way did the Griqua tokens circulate!” 14% (only one single person) has indicated in the previous poll that she is a coin collector.

 

Come on everyone, keep up the voting!

Yes of course, everyone can vote. I was just trying to see if there is some kind of voting pattern / anomalies between coin collectors vs. those that may be not coin collectors. We will see if this is so as the voting progresses.

As far as I know, MrAerospace, MsPlod and geewhizz collect coins so it goes without saying that their spouses/partners are not ignoramuses.

Now let me ask all those who voted "Yes of course they did" to summarise in one short paragraph on what basis they come to this conclusion. (ie coin books like those by Hern, someone told them they did OR RESEARCH.. and if it is research I welcome them onto the other thread to debate this subject with me from a factual basis. If it is coin books or heresay .. I can only smile because they are quite simply wrong and misleading - and this has already been demonstrated in the other thread!)

 

I would also make the observation that some of those who voted no and who are not coin collectors have followed the debate on this forum on this subject and, as a result, would be better informed than many "collectors"...

PS I won't be voting in this poll because the outcome, in reality, reflects about as much of the truth on this subject as watching a glorious sunset would. Even the question asked in the poll is incorrect in that they were token coins not "coins".

I voted yes, simply because common sense needs to prevail in this case. There are hundreds of ancient coins that have not been documented or captured in international archives and catalogues, does that mean to say they did not circulate? I doubt that!
