For those who knew him, Billy Hills passed away last night. He possessed one of the finest collections of South African coins and patterns. In his collection were many unique coins including the unique 1894 ZAR gold 3d and the 1928 6d.

Our condolences to the family of Billy. I’ve met him a few times and his passing is also a great loss to the numismatic

society here in South Africa. Another man with passion for his collection.
