Just bought an item on BOB, got the usual winning email from BOB, but with this message included:

Buyers are advised to proceed with extra caution if the seller requests payment other than through bobPay.

Is there anything that I should be aware of or worry about?

TT make sure that it's not a scammer you are dealing with. Check on the sellers ratings etc.

It is much more safe to do your payments throught Bobpay.

That is just a general notification as basic sellers are restricted to receiving payments by bobPay EFT only, but some send the buyer their bank info to make EFT or direct deposits and should the seller disappear, so does your money.

This is really annoying to me as an international buyer when I can't pay with this method and have to ask for another way to pay to many sellers

Unfortunately not everyone here offers paypal, you have to have an account with FNB, so there is no easy way as a foreign buyer to make payment to basic sellers, unless a seller offers paypal or accepts credit card payments through bobPay Credit Card (only selected sellers can offer this).
