Johannesburg Coin Show

This year the South African Mint will be hosting a coin show in Johannesburg at the Michelangelo Hotel on Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton on Saturday 30 July 2011 from 10am – 4pm. All collectors are welcome and the entrance is free. This exclusive show will give you the opportunity to see new and rare coins and various dealers and experts will be there to give free evaluations and advice on your coins.

We will once again be bringing our antique fly-press on which the sterling silver, mint marked limited edition Tickey will be struck. The South African Mint will also be launching their 2011 24 carat tenth ounce gold coin at the show.

Be sure to visit us at this spectacular event.

The South African Mint Conference

On the 29 July 2011, The South African Mint will be hosting our first ever coin conference for individuals from the previously disadvantaged community who are interested in exploring the valuable world of coins, coin collecting and coin dealing The Michelangelo Hotel in Sandton will set the scene for this exclusive conference.

The aim of the conference is to open up to a broader market. While the art of collecting coins carries with it an air of wealth and status, the benefits are so much more. Explore the artistic beauty and the historical value of coins. Understand and harvest your piece of the precious metals market. Top industry leaders lead you into the diverse and exciting Hobby of Kings, a hobby that is more than protection against inflation, diversification of assets or a symbol of status - but an experience of Timeless Value.

The conference package includes breakfast, lunch, a gift and a tour to the new ABSA Coin museum and will be concluded with a cocktail event at which our guests have the opportunity to mingle with the industry leaders. The cost of the conference is R500.00 per person and limited space is available.
