Using PNG instead of JPG is not always great

Dear sellers,

as you know, during image upload we resize images and downscale them to have a usable size and allow us to render those images in your listings quickly. We have noticed that certain PNG files do not downscale (due to being highly compressed already) and the image size remains the same as the uploaded images.

This is of course not a good experience for the buyer and we are not able to rectify this, as it is a restriction in the way PNG's are compressed already. If you do upload PNG's please make sure that those files have a practical file-size (anything over 250KB per image is excessive). To avoid such issues, rather stick with JPG/JPEG, as those images will compress very well without losing out on picture quality.

Hi Mac

I use PNG for text which I save as a picture. I find the 96dpi gives clearer text. Is there a way of saving as a JPEG to give the same clarity?

Thanks

Mandy

PS: Don't laugh because I don't have anything listed - I am busy again LOL
