BeadsandBaubles 10 Posted April 20, 2011 Does anyone make use of money-transfer via Shoprite? The sender pays a once off fee of R9.99 on any amount up to R5000.00 using their SA ID document. The recipient collects from Shoprite at no charge using their SA ID, the money-transfer no and a secret pin which the sender can text to them. It seems like a good idea to broaden sales for buyers wanting to send smaller amounts via cash and charges are standard and less than the banks.
lilythepink 11 Posted April 21, 2011 I've not used this method of payment but it sounds like it could be somewhat cheaper than Standard Bank's fees?!

chrisc 10 Posted May 2, 2011 I have used it. You must send your ID number, name and a telephone number to the buyer. Shoprite doesn't keep lots of cash in their Money Market dept, but up to R1000 is probably ok.
