Illegal Microsoft Windows 7 - Ultimate software

I purchased the Microsoft Windows 7 - Ultimate (Brand new sealed!) on 29 August 2010. Software was loaded and all seemed fine until I started getting messages on-screen in February advising me that I have an illegal copy of Windows 7.

I contacted the seller on numerous occassions who promised to send me another product key. This never materialised.

I then contacted Microsoft who tested the software and advised me that the copy sold to me was sold illegally as the product key was for a MSDN licence (Dealer's licence) and not for sale to the public.

The seller promised to refund my money, I supplied my banking details, and to date I have had no response from him!!

I have now given him a negative rating!!

Be very careful when you buy software from dealers who are not reputable sellers - this guy is a fly-by-night seller!

I have a problem with a 10.2" Notebook preloaded with Windows XP. this also came up saying the software is not legal. Please let me know how you got that sorted.
