Delicious 10 Posted April 11, 2011 Hi All If i'm posting this in the wrong place then please move my posting, or redirect me to where this query is addressed? We've sold something to a friend of hubby's overseas via paypal.. Any tips/tricks/unexpected expenses when we try bring it over to our SA bank accounts? It's a valid, properly set up paypal account, but hasn't been used as yet.
LikeNeedWant 10 Posted April 12, 2011 Hi Delicious To withdraw funds from your PayPal account in SA you need to bank with FNB. Anybody can use PayPal in SA, but only FNB clients are able to withdraw the funds. When it comes to withdrawing the funds, payout normally takes 7 days and when payout takes place it will be at the rate of exchange at that moment, so it isn't possible to calculate exactly how much you will receive. There are no hidden costs, just the usual transaction fees as detailed on the PayPal site.
