Help need - any info on metal Persian? antique

Does anyone know what this is? It seems Persian, some kind of metal (not silver) and is quite old. Any help will be appreciated.

I think it's beautiful - an absolute treasure! But I have no idea what the metal can be. Certainly a work of art whatever the metal is!

Beautiful piece that has got me really puzzled - I've googled and searched for hours but can't find anything similar. It seems like it's maybe a pot holder of some sort
