Hallucinatory drugs on Crazy Wed?

Hi all, is this right?

Psychic, Paranormal - Salvia Divinorum 20 x Extract strenght ( 2.5mg ) for sale in Sedgefield (ID:35383024)

I've seen what drugs can do to people, and families, and it's not pretty. We don't peddle grass here, or heroin, or opium, should this guy be selling this?

Everyone's choice is their own, and I sure don't want to stop a seller making a buck, but I find this very disturbing.

I am in absolute agreement with oo la la. Things like this should definitely NOT be sold on Bid or Buy! We have kids using the computers so, if it is to be allowed, I think it should be under x-rated!

I don't believe that the use of hallucinogenic plants should be encouraged or sold on a site such as Bidorbuy . However unlike heroine , opium and grass , this is not an illegal product here in SA , so it will be interesting to see how the Bidorbuy terms cover this.

I see that these extracts have previously been sold here on Bidorbuy without objection.

Unusual Items - Salvia Divinorum Leaves 1g Free Shipping was sold for R50.00 on 9 Dec at 13:31 by timmyleary in Cape Town (ID:17645029)

I think we will be removing this due to the potentially harmful side effects it may have, even though it is not an illegal substance as far as we are aware.

Thank you gball. The side effect and the fact that the seller will not take responsibility for the use is the most disturbing issue. Thank you for removing it.

I hope I am not hijacking this thread. I came accross something called "poppers" on bob. It seems that it is used as a sex aid. It is sniffed and causes physiological changes in the body, and has mind altering effects. I had a look on wikipedia. They are classified as a recreational drug. Wikipedia say "There is some evidence to indicate that even occasional use of poppers may affect vision. With heavy long-term use there is a potential for neurological damage.". I emailed community watch, enquiring whether these were legal, and never heard back from them. Surely these would fall into the same category. After all thy are classified as recreational drugs.

Its a herb .

Salvia is is not a drug but a herb also belonging the the Mint family.

Salvia divinorum - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Salvia divinorum has a long and continuous tradition of religious use by Mazatec shamans, who use it to facilitate visionary states of consciousness during spiritual healing sessions

Don't know who watches the news, but the same stuff, Miley Cyrus had at her birthday.

Like anything if you take to much it is not good for you, Although it has no long term side effects, nor can one end up in hospital from overdose it is good to warn a person. It's also not addictive.

also note :Salvia Root is a traditional Chinese herb that has become important in the West for supporting cardiovascular health and improving liver function

Salvia Root/Herb: Information on Benefits, History, Uses & Effects of Salvia Herb

if herbs are band what about these : Seeds - Catnip Seeds ~ Nepeta cataria Seeds ~ Medicinal Herbs for sale in Port Elizabeth (ID:35358077)

or the other 50 pages of herbs... Like putting you cat on a high ?

same as following : search nutmeg on the site...it sells, its listed.. too much of that and you really loose your mind...

and since when would one get banned for spelling or wording issues ? last i heard thats discrimination.

I agree it could be listed under over 18 section, but then so should most herbs, or anything you would not want you kids to get there hands on starting from knives, swords, meat grinders, ect ect...

Now that is bad, it can give you a heart attact, and have some pretty bad long term effects.

..

..

unlike salvia

Digitalis and belladonna are also herbs, which can kill or cure, depending on how responsibly they are administered. Come to that, marijuana is also a herb, but parents, don't panic, it's organic!!!

Last comment, then I leave it to the leaders - do we sell Magic Mushrooms here?

From the sellers own listing -

The famous salvia-researcher Daniel Siebert made up a scale for the strength of a salvia experience. His S-A-L-V-I-A trip scale shows 6 trip stages:

  • S - SUBTLE effects, Relaxation and increased sensual appreciation may be noted. This mild level is useful for meditation and may facilitate sexual pleasure.
  • A - ALTERED perception, colors and textures are paid attention to. Thinking becomes less logical, and more playful.
  • L - LIGHT visionary state. Closed eye visuals (clear imagery with eyes closed).
  • V - VIVID visionary state. Complex three dimensional realistic appearing scenes occur. With eyes closed you experience fantasies. So long as your eyes are closed you may believe they are really occurring.
  • I - IMMATERIAL existence. Individuality may be lost; one experiences merging with the Divine.
  • A - AMNESIC effects. Loss of consciousness. The individual may fall, or remain immobile or thrash around. Dangerous!

My argument against any form of potentially mind-altering drugs being sold on BoB is the fact that children use this site. Imagine a teenager of 15 buying this drug (stating he/she is an adult!) and is provided with this drug and abuses it ... I think in terms of the new Consumer Protection Act both BoB AND the seller could be in grave danger of expensive law suits for allowing the listing(s) on BoB.

Firstly Google Drug and Google Herb.. way differant. Salvia is a Herb

Secondly, what is any seller men't to do against someone stating they are what the are or not ?

There are knives, swords, e-smoke's and plenty alcohole on the site, what if my 15 year old daughter bought that and abused it ? who's fault is that ? if the seller asks for a copy of the buyers ID and the buyer sent out a fake ID, there is nothing we can do.

If my daugher buys a sword off bob, and kills someone, do they blame it on bob for allowing them to buy it ? Although the law states you not allowed to have blades of a certain lenght, they sold.

If i buy a item from bob and stick my fingers in it and shock myself, who do i blame ? If there are warnings on the item, then it is my own stupidity... same as any item sold. Warn you buyers of any possible dangers.

@KMartin - dagga is also a herb but it is dangerous. The fact that it has been banned is neither here nor there. If Salvia is dangerous, it, too, should not be up for sale on BoB. I guess the same would apply to arsenic, too?! Short and sweet.

I agree that taking any substance that could be bad for one should not be encouraged but quite honestly , if kids want to buy the stuff that can get it on Gumtree !

Because Salvia is legal in most areas around the world---the plant leaves can be easily obtained at health food stores or grown in gardens in warm climates.

Too many parents these days readily blame anything and anyone else for their children's misbehaviour and poor habits.

The bottom line is , sold on Bidorbuy or not , parent should take responsibility for their own children and their activities. There are hundreds of items on this site that kids should not be using - including masses of porn ! Why not ban anything and everything that may be dangerous ?

Hello all

Believe me, I just love a glass (or two) of whisky.

Alcohol is freely for sale on BoB.

Do you know of a more dangerous drug than alcohol taken in excess? You can die within in hours. You can kill within a split second.

Regards

Jacques

Hi!

Are you bragging?! :wtf:

PS Hint: Are you saying; "killing" a soul for R10 instead for R1000 000 makes the soul cheaper; then...?

PS * Sorry, I need better spectacles - letters read very odd...!:oh:

Just saw this thread now, and apologies if I may be butting in. I sent a 16 year old to buy this product: just take a look at the package insert - this is easily available, the commonest drug available worldwide and very few that DON'T use it, albeit usually in miniscule and diluted but something most kids, even under the age of 12 are using daily: And this in it's tablet form cost only a few rands, enough for most kids to afford!

r2..jpg.2f04b5e9e16c2b23f35bb7f00418156e.jpg

I use this myself, and only because it is now illegal to use ephedrine which ONLY RECENTLY became illegal (used it for over 20 years in the product called THINZ, at that time freely available at any pharmacy - a diet aid, and which was coined a "wonder drug" because of its lifestyle enhancing effects and its ability to keep colds, flu, bronchitis, sinus problems, etc at bay. The FDA banned it even though it was never recommended by the findings of Scientists and Doctors elected to study the socio- and health effects of the product.

The problems lie not in the products themselves, but in the abuse thereof.

Some of them, such as the one mentioned above, have beneficial effects that so outweigh the negative effects, what else could governments do than ban them - too many HEALTHY people are not good, less need for doctors and medical aids, less companies for them to tax!!!

Now something like alcohol, which has the worst negative effect in all aspects, and the root of most of the worlds evils is just too lucrative for the authorities to ban. Makes one think about how our lives are controlled by the media and the authorities!

PS: Did anyone notice on the insert that it says "Therapeutic doses" as compared to "Overdosage"? ie just the normal dosage of this may cause the symptoms mentioned.

Has anyone guessed yet what this product is?
