Niren 10 Posted March 28, 2011 Hi BoB, Won the following auction and paid via EFT. Digital Media Receivers - mede8er 500x includes 500 gb hard drive was sold for R1,110.00 on 24 Mar at 00:01 by ntbrokers in Johannesburg (ID:35015621) Seller made numerous excuses for being unable to send/deliver parcel. I requested a refund, which he obliged to do, but have not received it. Can you help. Regards, Niren
Wild Olive Art 11 Posted March 28, 2011 Report the seller to communitywatch@bidorbuy.co.za Unfortunately this is a fairly new and unverified seller so you will not be protected by Bidorbuy. If you are lucky they will have his contact details and you can lay a charge against him with the SAPS.
Niren 10 Posted March 29, 2011 (edited) There is a company listed on Facebook that's roughly in the same area as where this NTBROKER's banking branch is, ie Edenvale and ABSA Greenstone Mall. The owner of NTBROKERs on Facebook has the same last name as NTBROKERs here on BoB, first name differs. Highly likely the same person. lilythepink 11 Posted March 29, 2011 It also could be one of the firm's employees?
Niren 10 Posted March 29, 2011 This guy had 4 such devices on the Crazy Wednesday auction last week. I wonder if the other 3 winners also paid and did not receive anything? Can BoB check?
Niren 10 Posted April 1, 2011 It is amazing how unhelpful the BoB communitywatch@bidorbuy.co.za has been on this. Seems like a hopeless situation for me.
qball 12 Posted April 1, 2011 (edited) Dear Niren Thank you for your post. Whilst I empathise with your situation, we have been assisting you in this matter, however, please understand we do not sell the goods nor have any physical control over a seller. The seller was contacted yesterday via email again and advised that should no resolution to this matter be found, we will be advising legal action against him - so far no contact has been made from his side. As we are not the purchaser or buyer, we have no legal grounds to open a criminal case against him, you will need to contact SAPS to open a case of theft under false pretenses against the seller, we will assist the police in any way we can. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding in this regard. Cuan Edited April 1, 2011 by qball
