lilythepink 11 Posted February 6, 2011 There are chemical wholesalers in most of the big cities. I think the yellow pages of the director for the city nearest her might just be able to help. These retailers sell bath crystals, essences, soap ingredients, you name it. I know there is one in Port Elizabeth but I just for the life of me can't remember its name. I know how to get to it but that's about all.

BeadsandBaubles 10 Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) @ BumbleBabe Hi, just saw this post. Has your friend tried the nearest local agri-store. They sell bulk quantities - the specialised shops' prices are much much higher. The one here has both these products so I am sure it should be available in her locale as these are products used in agriculture all over the country. "Both" meaning the plumbing type caustic soda, plus the household cleaning type. My Gran used to make her own soaps when she was still alive - still with beeswax from her own hives - we had to be careful which we used - the one used in the barns could almost shed the skin off your hands. After she passed away my dad kept a crate of her soap for about 15 years - when he passed away we threw it out - it had almost eaten a whole right through the crate.
