What would you pay for this desktop?

Hello there...am trying to guage how much people will like to pay for desktops that I build...Since am based in the US and not fully immersed in the computer world in SA. so here are some specs and I would like to know around about prices people are willing to pay for well built desktops...

Here are some specs and mind you all my parts are brand new...

okay, how much will you pay for this desktop:

I can probably throw in a copy of microsoft office 2007 enterprise edition, a trial version of norton 360

 

so let me know...am just looking for info ...so feel free to let me know what you think

Nothing, cause since my bad experience with the K6 years ago I've been giving AMD the cold shoulder. :laugh:

 

Anyway, a similar system can be bought for roughly ZAR4250 or about US$600. (You still have to add postage, customs and a waiting period.)

well that was yrs ago...u cant let a single bad experience deny you from enjoying a whole brand like amd...lol...I do appreciate the info though...in a few minutes ill put an intel specs just for you and get your take on that....seriously though ...a k6? really? and now u just dont mess with amds? am sorry am just being humorous now....

OK, I do have one AMD machine... an Am386DX-33. :grin: So you can gather that I'm not really into the latest technology - my main server is a dual Pentium III (600MHz) box and my firewall is a Pentium-MMX (233MHz) - which why I suggested selling outdated technology might be a better option.

Honestly... we're big on recycling and education here in Africa. Getting secondhand machines up and running Linux is our best option for the future.
