Must have books for all South African token coin collectors

I have personally ordered three copies of each of the colour copies of the two books listed below:

Hi Scott

My booklet on the Tokens of Natal and the update of the Tokens of the Transkei are finally done. I have only done a print of 60 copies of which (just) ten are in full colour. The Natal Token booklet in full colour is R250.00 (plus unfortunately postage) and the black and white is R120.00. The booklet on the Transkei tokens is R150.00 in colour and R100.00 in black and white.

Regards

Milner

The books are self-published and will, without doubt, be sold out by the end of 2010 because I will be buying whatever remains from Milner at this time. So, in the interests of fairness, I am giving BoB collectors thirty days to place their orders before I buy the remaining stock out.

These excellent booklets are a labour of love and will become near impossible to acquire once sold out, and for their price they are a steal!

Who is Milner Snell?

Milner Snell is the Chair of the Kokstad Museum who's interest in coins was inspired by the book "Kence". I am proud to call him a friend of mine - and someone who has gone out of his way to assist me in my trips to South Africa in 2006 and 2007.

Milner has done his own independent research on important token issues like the Strachan and Larkan tokens and has already published his own views on their role. Many of these differ with my own but add great depth to the understanding of the importance of the East Griqualand token coin issues - and his research into this subject is augmented by his ability to access rare records from the Kokstad Museum.

I have no doubt that these books for sale now (only a handful of the full colour copies remain after my order) will become highly sought after in years to come.

His earlier books (which I am also fortunate to have copies) were limited to just twenty copies.. for example: Tokens of Transkei, Strachan and Co and Old King Cole; and A small river in a great valley, a journey through old Umzimkulu - try and buy them today.. forget it!

Milner is directly related to James Cole .. of James Cole token fame and knew the Strachan dynasty well (at a personal level).

I hope that BoB will allow me to publish Milner's email address (which I do with his blessing) so that token coin collectors can order direct from him.

If BoB do not allow that PM me and I will supply his email address as the book issue is too small and specialised to market in any other way and will only create increasing demand for tokens of East Griqualand - benefitting BoB. Milner lives in Kokstad making his access to the Internet rather erratic so bear with him if he does not respond to your email immediately.

I will personally guarantee delivery of Milner's books - so order and pay with confidence.

Kind regards

Books nearly sold out already

Update from Milner... congrats to those who got a copy of the books!

Hi Scott

I have sold half the print thanks to your notice on BoB. The Daily Dispatch and Witness will run something for me during the holidays and that will, I am sure, result in the rest being sold.

Thanks again

Milner
