Why does Pay Pal charge for credit card usage? And no mention is made in the item of purchase for the charges, unlike courier / EFT charges?

I think the seller has to pay fees, but not the buyer.. It's how Paypal make their money.

Kebs is right, check with the seller as they might want you to pay the fees. The other charges will be fom your bank for the transaction only.

The one accepting the payment pays the fee (seller), and the charge is 5% of the total amount.

PayPal also charges a 'Cross-Border Fee' for monies collected on Seller's behalf when the buyer resides outside of Seller's Country. This 'fee' is also collected from Seller.
