Postage Miscalculated

Recommended Posts

Guest Guest

Hi Guys

Please help

I am bidding on a certain item

the postage that they say is R 300 for 7.5 KG

The postage formulae is this , please correct me

1KG - 30.70

4.02 per KG after

So you say

1X 30.70 = 30.70

7.05- 1KG= 6.05 X 4.02

= R 56.83

Regards

If it's ordinary parcel, your calculations are absolutely correct. Of course cost of packaging should be taken into account as well but I seriously doubt packaging would cost R243.17 :o

Hi there: 1KG - R30.20 plus R4.05 per KG (or part thereof) thereafter.

so it's R30.20 (1st KG) plus R4.05 x 7 = R28.35 giving a total of R58.55

If I was selling this item I would charge around R65.00 for Ordinarly Parcel postage. The extra to cover packing materials etc.

Exactly , I asked and he said this check this link:

Other Desktop Components - Motherboards, Ram, Cpu, Hard drives, etc! All Must go... for sale in Rustenburg (ID:25877121)

Please review , I did reserach and the postage is this:

First KG - 30.70

Thereafter per KG= 4.02

1x 30.70 +6.05 (7.5- 1) x 4.02= R 56.83 - Asked by Snet (37 rating1.gif)

Terrible - he must be using very expensive bubble wrap!! ;) We all understand time and labour etc... but I think in this case it's excessive.

Hi Snet,

Keep in mind that as soon as you entered your bid, that you agreed to the sellers postage, even if it is excessive. You can not just pay postage on the amount you calculated should you win. ;)

Great  The way that I read those answers he is going to charge you to pack and address the items for the courier pickup. Think you should ask him ;)

Snet , not sure what courier you use but I always use Internet Express - the couriers listed on the BOB homepage . They offer various courier options and their rates are extremely reasonable.

I courier all over the country and have never had a quote from another courier that beats theirs . They are also extremely friendly and helpful !:)

7kg seems extremely heavy for the items he has in this listing ?? and bubble wrap at most is R6 a meter (120cm wide)

Hi Jacque , I am an experienced computer expert and I don't think he had time to put all the pics in as he is moving. Don't you just like the new forum.

But at least he listed whats what.
